Family Constellation is an approach that addresses recurring difficulties in an individual’s life, relational patterns, and bodily–emotional burdens not solely through personal experiences, but within the context of the family system and intergenerational transmissions to which one belongs. In this perspective, the individual is not viewed as an isolated entity, but rather as part of a system connected to the past, to ancestral roots, and to invisible bonds.
Our clinical observations also show that certain emotional reactions, relational patterns, or physical symptoms may not be explained solely by a person’s own life story. Family Constellation work creates space to recognize the systemic contexts from which these recurring themes may arise. The aim here is not to simply “resolve” or assign blame to the past, but to gain a clearer awareness of the invisible dynamics that continue to influence the present.
Within this approach, the family is not limited to the nuclear structure. Losses, exclusions, suppressed emotions, or unfinished stories experienced in previous generations may manifest in different forms in subsequent generations. Family Constellation makes these transmission processes visible, supporting the individual in distinguishing between the burdens they carry and their own personal life space.
Family Constellation work does not aim to position the individual against their family or to sever bonds. On the contrary, it seeks to develop a more realistic, more compassionate, and more balanced perspective. As a person gains clearer awareness of their place within the system, a space of relief may emerge both in relationships and on a bodily–emotional level.
