Vaginoplasty (Vaginal Tightening)

Vaginoplasty (Vaginal Tightening)

Genital Aesthetic Surgery, particularly Vaginal Tightening, has become one of the increasingly popular areas worldwide in recent years. Structural changes in the vaginal area not only cause concerns related to appearance but also negatively affect patients' self-confidence, impacting their social lives. In addition, structural changes in both the internal and external genital areas can sometimes be painful. Among the most frequently preferred aesthetic procedures today, vaginal tightening surgeries provide a definitive and lasting solution to vaginal enlargement, one of the biggest concerns of many women.

Vaginoplasty surgeries are one of the aesthetic procedures aimed at the internal genital area. Vaginoplasty is a completely gynecological and reconstructive operation that should be performed by gynecologists and obstetricians who are specifically trained in this field. Vaginal tightening surgeries are generally considered low-risk and have a high success rate, offering positive and satisfactory outcomes.

Women may have concerns about their genital area. This is a very normal and common issue. Conditions like loss of sensitivity, sexual life disruptions, and urinary incontinence that negatively affect daily life can occur. To require vaginoplasty, patients do not necessarily need to have given birth or be of advanced age. Vaginal aging is not solely related to the patient's biological age. Thus, patients do not need to be older to require vaginal rejuvenation. Aging, pregnancy, childbirth, or hormonal changes can cause vaginal enlargement. This enlargement, which can also arise from weakening of the muscles in the vaginal area, may be accompanied by symptoms like vaginal flatulence or urinary incontinence in the later stages. Vaginoplasty surgeries prevent these problems, restoring the vaginal tightness quickly through vaginal tightening interventions, offering a more comfortable life for couples.

Vaginoplasty (Vaginal Tightening)

Vaginoplasty surgery involves bringing together the stretched muscle at the back of the vagina, shortening it with dissolvable stitches, and then removing excess vaginal mucosa, while tightening the surrounding soft tissues. After the procedure, swelling, pain, and some bruising may occur, typically subsiding within one to two weeks, although it is not always seen. Patients can usually move comfortably within a few days. Vaginoplasty is a procedure that tightens the vaginal muscles, perineum, and surrounding tissues, providing increased tightness, strength, and control to the vaginal muscles, enhancing patients' sensitivity and sexual experience. It can be combined with surgeries for bladder prolapse, bowel prolapse, labiaplasty, clitoral aesthetics, labial filler, episiotomy scar repair, and all vaginal rejuvenation surgeries.

A vaginoplasty procedure generally lasts about 1-2 hours, and hospitalization is not required. After the surgery and once the doctor deems it appropriate, patients can be discharged and go home a few hours later. The full recovery process typically takes 3-4 weeks. While surgical vaginal tightening provides a permanent tightening, laser vaginal tightening may require multiple sessions depending on the patient. Since fully absorbable materials are used, patients do not need to return for stitch removal. The stitches in vaginal tightening surgeries are placed inside the vagina, with a small area at the vaginal entrance where the stitches may be visible. However, no scars remain after a while. The full result can be observed a few months after the surgery. Generally, full resumption of sexual activity can occur within 3-4 weeks. Any pain or discomfort experienced after the surgery can be effectively controlled with medications provided by the specialist and usually resolves within a few days.

The potential risks associated with vaginoplasty are similar to those of other surgeries involving general or local anesthesia. Other than rare occurrences of bleeding and infection, there are few risks to be concerned about. To ensure lasting results, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and habits post-surgery is crucial. Traveling by plane or other modes of transportation is not prohibited after vaginoplasty. The issue of whether vaginal birth should be avoided after genital aesthetic surgeries is debated. If vaginal birth occurs, vaginal enlargement may happen again after a certain period, though this varies. However, a cesarean section is always a larger surgery than genital aesthetic operations and has a longer recovery time.
